    We are currently seeking Data Architect / Data Modeler in our Overland Park, Kansas office to provide exceptional service and support to our internal teams.  This is a chance to join a growing Operations team and be part of building aenterprise data warehouse from the ground up.  

    Responsibilities

    • Utilizing best practices for efficiency, accuracy and scalability - assist driving strategy to design and implement the architecture for our new, enterprise data warehouse
    • Work with product owners / business users to understand internal business processes and translate user stories and/or requirements for implementing, testing and maintaining data models / data marts
    • Data modeling - including management of both structured and unstructured data sets. Utilize modeling tools such as ERWin or equivalent to create data models and data marts
    • Write and execute advanced SQL scripts (Join, Union, Create, Replace, Drop, Truncate, etc.) including query tuning
    • Ability to adapt and be effective in a fast-paced, innovative and changing environment with minimal supervision
    • Prepare independent conclusions and offer alternative solutions to matters that may arise
    • Maintain open and honest lines of communication, provide project status updates and help resolve any data discrepancies
    • Radiate client first mentality - respond to applicable emails, phone calls, Salesforce cases or YouTrack stories in a timely manner
    • Associate will be a part of the Operations Reporting team and will collaborate closely with IT and other internal clients / reporting stakeholders of Mariner

    Qualifications

    • 3-5 years hands-on, work experience in Data Modeling (conceptual, logical, physical, and dimensional) using tools such as ERwin or equivalent within a Data Warehouse environment
    • Must be versed in different approaches to data architecture and applications including traditional and modern Data warehousing concepts and Data Lakes
    • Work experience with Normalized / Denormalized / Star / Snowflake / Kimball design concepts
    • MS SQL Server, deep knowledge of SQL and data analysis
    • Experience in financial services is a plus
    • STEM major is a plus
    • Refined communication skills (non-verbal, verbal and written)
    • Robust problem solving and independent, critical thinking skills with a strong aptitude for pattern recognition
    • Must be an organized, self-starter with a high change management capacity
    • Proven success of collaborating with associates spread amongst multiple locations or departments
    • Ability to proactively identify opportunities to enhance efficiencies and accuracy in order to exceed our client experience and expectations
    • Desire to work in a dynamic environment having a continuous improvement and development mindset
    • Preferred skillsets in working with various systems including: Hadoop, HQL (Hive), Spark, Talend, Informatica, Alteryx, Salesforce, BI Reporting (Tableau)
