    Bicknell Family Holding Company (BFHC) is a rapidly growing investment company in the financial services sector.  We are actively seeking positive, energetic candidates for a full-time Senior Accounting Manager position in our Overland Park, Kansas office to assist with financial reporting, as well as serving as a dedicated resource to a new hedge fund.  To be successful in this role, a candidate will be a dynamic leader with the ability to manage multiple projects while contributing to an atmosphere that motivates and develops others.  This is an exciting opportunity to work with a firm that recognizes high performers.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Review of monthly, quarterly, and annual GAAP financial statements for various asset management and investment entities
    • Review transactions for proper accounting, tax, and other financial implications including acquisitions, dispositions, entity creation and/or restructuring
    • Review workpapers, schedules, and reconciliations in support of financial statements, audits, and tax return preparation
    • Assist with annual budget process and analysis of financial performance
    • Coordinate with 3rd party Fund administrator on private fund accounting financials
    • Review investor statements and communication prepared by Fund administrator
    • Coordination of Fund administrator and other 3rd party service providers in conjunction with annual audits and tax preparation
    • Special projects as needed

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
    • 5+ years of experience in public or financial accounting for financial services firms
    • CPAs or CPA eligible candidates preferred
    • Proactive problem solving, strong analytical skills, critical thinking abilities
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
    • Ability to multi-task and prioritize duties
    • Extremely strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
    • Strong organizational and time management skills
    • Proficient knowledge using Microsoft Excel
    • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics a plus
    • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
