    We are seeking highly accomplished and energetic candidates for full-time Business Development positions in the Southeast and Northeast. The Business Development Officer is responsible for generating new business opportunities, through Mariner’s Referral Partner Program, to drive revenue and profitability growth.  The candidate we seek will meet the following requirements:



    • Support market growth and achievement of revenue and profitability goals
    • Profile and understand prospective client needs and match those requirements to Mariner’s offerings
    • Manage a healthy sales pipeline
    • Develop strategic referral partner relationships in the southeast market
    • Ensure effective and complete communication to prospective clients
    • Engage and communicate prospective client needs to Mariner’s advisory teams
    • Represent and communicate various investment strategies and solutions to prospective clients
    • Develop and maintain a high-level understanding of solutions, products and services
    • Collaborate with appropriate business leaders to conduct joint sales calls, prepare proposals/presentations and consult on pricing
    • Keep abreast of current trends and new business development opportunities
    • Leverage community relations and development centers of influence to generate leads and facilitate introductions


    • Bachelor’s degree in business or other related field from an accredited college or university
    • 5-10+ years’ experience in the financial services industry
    • Proven success selling business to new and existing clients
    • Experience working with individuals at all levels of an organization, specifically with executive-level decision-makers
    • Series 65 license
    • Demonstrated knowledge and facilitation of sales cycle / process
    • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite
    • Problem solving, negotiation and persuasive communication skills
    • Effective written communication skills with ability to adapt to different audiences
    • Effective oral communication skills with ability to address individuals and groups in formal and informal settings
    • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with clients, prospective clients, internal and community contacts
